Shorts: Central Arkansas, Washington U, and ASU–West

— The University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas, has two residential colleges—Hughes College and State College—and has just announced that it will open a third, Minton College, this coming academic year.

Washington University in St. Louis is one of the leading research universities in the United States, and for some time it has been developing a residential college system. This work has not been very visible outside the institution, but there is now a webpage describing the Washington University colleges and some of the plans for their future development.

The provost of Arizona State University West, Elaine Maimon, has been recommending the creation of more residential-academic opportunities on the ASU West campus, and has quoted the Collegiate Way website in an editorial in the Arizona Republic.
