University World News Notes the Collegiate Way

5 May 2009 (collegiateway.org) — The residential college movement is an international movement, so it’s always encouraging to see international news outlets taking note of the collegiate idea.

This week the higher education news service University World News sampled and remixed some material from the Collegiate Way website about the new residential college system at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan, and posted and distributed that material to its readers around the world. I’m grateful for this attention and am gratified that more readers outside of Pakistan will now have a chance to learn about the important collegiate work underway at LUMS.

The major higher education news services in the United States—The Chronicle of Higher Education and Inside Higher Ed—focus almost exclusively on U.S. news coverage. University World News takes a more global perspective, and I hope it will continue to report on the many collegiate developments taking place worldwide.
