Duke University Campus Life: The Willimon Report

— Visitors to the Collegiate Way website will be interested in a new report published by William Willimon, Dean of the Chapel at Duke University in North Carolina, on the problems of student life in large universities. Many people will be familiar with Willimon as the co-author (with Thomas Naylor) of the important book The Abandoned Generation: Rethinking Higher Education (Eerdmans Publishing Company, 1995), which grew out of an earlier report on Duke campus life. Willimon’s current report is a follow-up to that earlier report and to The Abandoned Generation. It is available in PDF format only and is titled “Old Duke—New Duke.” I have also included it on the Collegiate Way’s recommended reading page.
