A Window Onto Whitman College

— Princeton University’s Whitman College, often described on these pages, is now in the final stages of construction. It is always important to note that the creation of a residential college system does not require expensive new construction, but nevertheless it’s interesting to see what can be done when there is an excess of funding available and that funding is coupled with a good understanding of the residential college idea.

Princeton has just put together a guided photographic tour of Whitman College that all friends of the Collegiate Way will want to examine. Not only does the tour display a fine example of residential college architecture (even if the dining hall seems that it will be a bit small), but it also serves itself as a good model for public communication about ongoing campus projects.
